National Chair of the Council on Advocacy 2015 – 2016

  • Served the association as the content expert in the area of legislation and advocacy. Supervised and directed the activities of the National Council on Advocacy to advance the association’s strategic plan. Developed the Association’s first policies on corporate dentistry and Medicaid coverage at dental schools. Oversaw the planing of National Dental Student Lobby Day 2016 including over 305 Congressional and Senate meetings (129 meeting increase from the previous year).

Education and Licensure Reference Committee Chair 2016

  • Served as chair of the reference hearings on Education and Licensure, developed recommendations on policies impacting licensure reform, curriculum integrated format, the Advanced Dental Aptitude Exam, and the Match System

Legislative Coordinator 2014 – 2015

  • Provided leadership and support in the areas of legislation and advocacy to ASDA chapter legislative liaisons. Organized student responses to political issues in the Northeast including counteracting an anti water fluoridation movement and supporting licensure reform legislation in Massachusetts. Sponsored and passed resolutions expanding ASDA’s Evidence Based Dentistry policy to clinical and preclinical use.

SUNY Buffalo SDM WREB Committee – Student Representative 2014

  • Represented the Buffalo student body and provided insight on National ASDA’s policy on licensure to minimize the ethical implications of a live patient exam.

Reference Committee Delegate Reviewer 2014

  • Served on the reference committee for Membership & Professional Issues. Mitigated conflicts involving the association’s diversity policy.

Legislative Liaison 2013 – 2015

  • Created UBSDM’s first Advocacy Academy Lecture series to educate Buffalo students on governmental affairs and tripled our annual congressional and senate lobbying visits.

American Dental Association/NYSDA

Washington Leadership Conference Workgroup Member for the American Dental Association (ADA) –  2016-Present

  • Serve as a member of the workgroup to merge the ADA Washington Leadership Conference with ASDA’s National Dental Student Lobby Day in 2017.

5th Local NYSDA Component Dental Residency Representative 2017-Present

  • Represented SUNY Upstate Dental Residents at NYSDA 5th District Component Meetings.

Voting Delegate to the New York State Dental Association (NYSDA) – 2014 – 2015

  • Introduced and helped passed Resolution 15 which doubled the student voting representation in NYSDA’s House of Delegates. Provided insight to organized dentistry leaders on issues impacting students and new dentists to increase membership.

7th and 8th Local NYSDA Component Student Representative 2013-2016

  • Represented UBSDM at NYSDA 7th and 8th District Component Meetings. Planned the 2016 ADA Signing Day

Alpha Omega

Vice President of the Alpha Omega SUNY Buffalo SDM Chapter 2014 – 2015

  • Developed membership initiatives to grow the organization’s size by 200% to over 110 students. Wrote the organization’s first set of By-Laws.

Philanthropy Chairperson of the Alpha Omega SUNY Buffalo SDM Chapter 2012 – 2013 

  • Coordinated and participated in the Good Neighbors Outreach Day.
